Lower your EXPECTATIONS to meet your work ethic
If you aren’t consistent how do you expect to have consistent results?
Success demands predictability.
If you consistently do the same thing the same way, you can be assured that you’ll have the same outcome.
That is true in a positive or negative sense – if you view life through those lenses.
Now let’s say you are currently the type of person who is unpredictable.
You don’t have a routine, wake up at odd hours throughout the day, and don’t have the skill of time management.
Would it be reasonable, in every sense of the word, to expect success?
Of course not.
Otherwise, you’d be an unreasonable person.
Which is more indicative of your mental state than anything else.
That is in no way a slight to you.
The most important thing here is to solve for X to achieve Y.
X is your work ethic, and Y is your expectations.
Your expectations currently exceed your work ethic.
You lack the skill of consistency which is why you don’t see consistent results.
I’ll correct myself here.
You do have the skill of consistency.
You CONSISTENTLY behave in unpredictable ways which in turn result in unpredictable outcomes.
Now that you know know that just turn that behavior on its head.
Begin to consistently behave and act in predictable ways that bring about predictable results.
For example: If you’re in sales, be predictable. Call 200 people, send 200 emails, and write 200 notes.
And if you do, it would be unreasonable not to have the results you expect.
To do this you’ll need to focus.
And to focus you need to remove the things that place friction between you and the tasks that require your focused attention.
If that’s watching YouTube videos or using social media while you’re at work, set a daily app limit, turn your phone off, or keep it in another room.
Do whatever is required to remove the friction between you and the predictable actions needed to achieve your goals.
Do whatever is required to become He or She who can achieve whatever it is you seek to achieve.
Remember to feed your curiousity,
